Track Report and Dashboard Views with RecordWatch’s Finch 1.8 Release

You asked, we delivered! RecordWatch now supports tracking which users are viewing which Reports and Dashboards.

RecordWatch was originally built to help you track usage and adoption at the record level — and it's been at the core of what we do since day one. With the release of Finch 1.8, we're expanding on that same mission, and we're proud to be the first Salesforce-native AppExchange solution that tells you which Dashboards and Reports your users are actually accessing.

Easily view ‘Dashboard’ and ‘Report’ object views in Salesforce with RecordWatch, available to all customers with the Finch 1.8 release.

The problem this solves

If you've ever rolled out a shiny new Dashboard and then wondered six months later whether anyone's even looking at it — this one's for you.

If you've ever gone through a Report audit or started cleaning up fields, only to find a Report reference that makes you pause and think "wait, is someone still using this?" — this one's for you too.

Salesforce Reports and Dashboards are some of the most visible, invested-in assets in any Salesforce org. But until now, there's been no native way to know whether that investment is actually paying off in usage.

What's new in Finch 1.8

In the age of analytics, guessing shouldn't be part of the equation. With Finch 1.8, you can now:

  • Track individual Report and Dashboard views — see exactly who's looking at what Dashboards and Reports, and when.

  • Measure frequency — understand how often a Report or Dashboard is being accessed, not just whether it's ever been opened.

  • Spot your power users and power teams — see which teams are really digging in versus which ones might need a nudge (or a training session).

  • Clean up with confidence — before you archive a Dashboard or remove a Report reference, know for certain whether it's still in active use.

Why it matters

Every Salesforce team invests real time building out analytics — and every team deserves to know if that investment is working. Our Finch 1.8 release turns "I think people are using this" into "here's exactly who's using this, and how often." That's the difference between guessing and knowing.
